Ladondra Johnson scored 26 points to lead the Young Harris College women’s basketball team to a 75-62 Peach Belt Conference victory against Lander University on Monday afternoon in Young Harris.
Johnson, who hit 13 of 19 shots from the field, registered her sixth double-double of the season and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds. Keta Robinette, who had three of the Mountain Lions’ five 3-pointers, finished with 13 points and Peyton Robertson added 12.
Young Harris (10-5, 4-4 Peach Belt Conference) travels to Clayton State University on Thursday in Morrow.
YOUNG HARRIS MEN 82, LANDER 72: Vince Martin led Young Harris College with 24 points as the Mountain Lions won their eighth consecutive game on Monday in Young Harris.
Martin and Frank Adams each went 9-of-14 shooting from the floor as the Mountain Lions shot 54.8 percent in the game. Adams finished with 18 points, while Martin dished out eight assists. Malcolm Jackson scored 19 points for Young Harris, and David Pruett (17), Jareal Smith (16) and Dermaine Smith (12) also finished in double figures.
The Mountain Lions improved to 12-3 overall and remained in first place in the West Division of the Peach Belt with a 7-1 record. Young Harris travels to Clayton State University on Thursday in Morrow.
