DAHLONEGA — The North Georgia College & State University women’s soccer extended their winning streak to four games on Saturday evening, scoring a pair of goals in each half to run away from the University of Montevallo 4-0 in Peach Belt Conference action.

The Lady Saints improve to 5-1 overall on the year and move to a perfect 2-0 in Peach Belt Conference action, while the Falcons fall to 2-4 on the season and 0-2 in league action. NGCSU is now 3-1-1 all-time against Montevallo and cap their longest home stand of the season with a 4-1 mark.

Kelsey Martin got the Lady Saints on the board in the early going, taking a pass from Samantha Abrahart and sending a shot that was saved by Montevallo keeper Alyssa Maxwell, but Martin found the rebound and sent a shot inside the right post for the game’s first goal.

Abrahart found her chance just three minutes later at the 11:37 mark as Casey Smith sent a free kick into the box and Abrahart’s header found the back of the net to put the Lady Saints up by a pair of goals.

NGCSU held a two-goal advantage heading into intermission, but would add some insurance in the 52nd minute as Abrahart and Smith hooked up one more time for the third goal of the day. Abrahart’s second score of the game came once again on Smith’s free kick as the deflection from the goalie came right to the freshman who sent home her team-leading seventh goal of the season.
