The University of North Georgia’s Shelby Hammontree was 5 for 6 from the plate in an 8-0 and 7-0 doubleheader sweep of Georgia Southwestern on Friday in Dahlonega. Hammontree had a home run for the Lady Nighthawks (38-10, 17-4 Peach Belt Conference) in Game 1, while Sydney Sprague had a two-run shot. Nighthawks starting pitcher Kylee Smith threw a complete game with five strikeouts and allowed three base runners.
