Brenau softball splits a Sunday pair

Led by Morgan Smith’s second home run of the season, Brenau University pounded 12 hits in a 10-1, five-inning win over Montreat on Sunday. Savannah College of Art and Design defeated the Tigers 4-1 in the second game, giving Brenau (3-1) its first loss of the season.

Freshman Tiffany Schandera went 3-for-4 with three RBIs in the win, while Ellen Black picked up the win on the mound, allowing two hits and striking out four.

Against SCAD, Anna Maness had a hit and drove in the only Tigers run.

Brenau returns to action at 5:30 today with a doubleheader against Truett-McConnell at the Lanier Point softball complex.
