The Brenau University softball team is ranked third in a Southern States Athletic Association coaches poll released Tuesday.

The Tigers, who return seven seniors from last year’s 30-23 team, finished behind top-ranked Lee and second-ranked Shorter. Brenau also picked up two first-place votes in the poll. Brenau opens the regular season when it plays host to LaGrange College at 1 p.m. Feb. 21.
