Annual tournament raises more than $200K

More than 200 golfers participated in the 18th annual Medical Center Open on Oct. 1 at Chicopee Woods Golf Course to help raise $202,060 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County.

The team of R.K. Whitehead, Troy Cain, Ricky Brown and Josh Bunch took top honors in Flight A, and the team of Lee Rogers, Bob Lackey, Nick Martin and Tre Anderson won second place.

In Flight B, the team of Pepper Brown, Fred Kelly, Cleve Brown and Randy Phillips won first place, and the team of Tony Burgess, Michael Stainbeck, Michael Byrd and Scotty Williams won second place.

The team of Rob Fowle, Grant Campbell, Robby Kerr and Steve McNeilly won first place in Flight C, and the team of Scott McGarity, Will Hudson, James Tipton and Steve Parks coming in second.

In Flight D, first place went to the team of Gary Hutchins, John Wofford, Steve Telander and Rich Waldron, and second place went to Gary Swidorski, Avery Niles, Billy Powell and Charley Nix.

In the fifth and final flight, the team of Mike Shamblin, Butch Bulloch, Jonathan Skaggs, John Long won first place, and second place went to the team of David Fenstermacher, Leo Reichert, Armando Basarrate and Derek Hunter.
