Lewis passes Panthers past Franklin County, 56-12

Quarterback Jacob Lewis led Jackson County to a 56-12 victory over Franklin County on Friday in Jefferson.

Lewis went 8 of 12 passing for 156 yards and two passing touchdowns and rushed 18 times for 78 yards and two more scores.

Layson Giles was his primary target with five catches for 126 yards and a touchdown, and Malik Tuck added a pair of scores and 127 yards on 11 carries.

Keyshawn Curry led the Jackson County defense with 12 tackles and an interception return for a touchdown. Evan Breakspear had nine tackles, and Jorge Monzon added eight.

The Panthers have a bye next Friday night before hosting Hart County on Oct. 18 in Jefferson.
