Jackson County too much for Oconee, 56-27

Jackson County rode a strong offensive showing to a 56-27 win over Oconee County on Friday in Jefferson.

Quarterback Jacob Lewis completed 20 of 31 passes for 331 yards and six scores to lead the Panthers.

Lewis connected with Xavier Harper 10 times for three Jackson County touchdowns. Harper finished with 185 yards receiving and 23 yards on two rushes with another score.

Layson Giles caught seven passes from Lewis for 119 yards and a pair of TDs for the Panthers (3-5, 3-2 Region 8-AAA), and Adrian Parsons added a receiving touchdown. Malik Tuck led the ground attack with 13 carries for 42 yards and a score.

Donovan Harris led Jackson County with nine tackles, and Chandler Todd added eight. Chris Griggs and Todd Woodring each recovered an Oconee County fumble for the Panthers.

Jackson County visits Elbert County on Friday in Elberton.
