Their legendary high school careers may be over, but the accolades continue to roll in for Gainesville quarterback Deshaun Watson and Buford linebacker Korie Rogers. Considered two of the state’s top prospects in the 2013 class, the future Clemson Tigers were both named the best players in their respective classifications by the Georgia Sportswriters Association on Saturday. Watson, the state’s all-time leading passer, was named the Offensive Player of the Year in Class AAAAA, while Rogers was named the Defensive Player of the Year in Class AAA. For Watson, the honor marks the third straight season he has been tabbed as one of the best players in the state.
