As president of Friends of Hall County Libraries, I am writing to express my support for SPLOST VIII. SPLOST VIII will provide funds for a library branch in East Hall, which we have not had for several years. It will also provide funds for a parking deck at the Gainesville library branch, once the renovations are completed.

In addition to these benefits, SPLOST VIII will contribute to many other initiatives to improve the safety and quality of life for Hall County residents. These include road improvement projects, enhancements to cybersecurity and other critical infrastructure projects. SPLOST pennies are collected locally and stay here locally to pay for a long list of community needs, and visitors to our area help pay for these projects when they spend here.

I encourage all Hall County voters to support our libraries and other important community services by voting yes on the SPLOST VIII referendum. Early voting is already underway and runs through Nov. 1. The regular referendum voting date is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Please take time out of your day to vote.

For over 30 years, our community has benefited from SPLOST. Let’s keep it up by voting yes for SPLOST.
