More than two dozen people from Wilson Orthodontics, including 1-year-old Hartley Wilson, hiked down into the open lot and carried shovels to where the new location will stand.
“Everything came together quickly like we wanted it to, and so we’re excited to finally break ground,” said Dr. Ron Wilson, who is the owner and partner of Wilson Orthodontics.
The groundbreaking took place across from the New Holland Market near the intersection of Jesse Jewell and Limestone parkways.
Wilson said the land was purchased about three years ago before the Kroger had been completed. The location will include a children’s theater, game room and free Wi-Fi.
Wilson said it was initially a five-year plan that sped up to a four-year plan.
Hobgood Construction Group is expected to complete the construction by next winter.
Wilson Orthodontics has other offices in Flowery Branch, Oakwood, Cleveland, Dahlonega, Hoschton and Dawsonville.
