Traffic shift for Stone Pile Gap roundabout construction in Dahlonega
On Monday, the day of the total solar eclipse, an estimated 53,000 drivers will be on the roads to a few North Georgia counties.

Construction partners with Georgia DOT will shift drivers over on Ga. 9/U.S. 19 due to construction of a 437-foot barrier wall in Dahlonega on Monday, Jan. 14.

The work on Monday to replace the road’s striping will start at 9 a.m., and the shift will begin at 5 p.m.

Southbound traffic on Ga. 9/U.S. 19 will shift right until the construction of the barrier wall reaches completion.

C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc. became the contractor for the roundabout on Stone Pile Gap in May 2018. The project is scheduled for completion by October 2019.
