Three teens taken to hospital after Lanier boating incident

Three teenagers were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center after their inflatable watercraft struck an embankment near Lake Lanier Islands Campground, according to authorities.

Two girls and one boy between ages 17 and 18 “were being towed behind a boat on an inflatable” around 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, Hall County Fire Services Capt. Zachary Brackett wrote in an email.

One of the girls was transported on an emergency status to the hospital, while the other two were non-emergency.

Georgia Department of Natural Resources is investigating.
