Two Northeast Georgia state park lodges, the Lodge at Amicalola Falls and Unicoi Lodge, are being renovated under the direction of the state of Georgia and the management of Coral Hospitality.
“Georgia’s state park system is one of the nation’s best,” said Kevin Langston, deputy commissioner of tourism for the state Department of Economic Development.
“These renovations will ensure that our visitors continue to have truly exquisite accommodations in beautiful surroundings.”
Unicoi Lodge renovated its guest rooms earlier this year, but both lodges will be making additional changes to their lobbies as well as upgrading meeting spaces, among other decor improvements to common areas and cabins.
“We are excited to share the plans for the remaining renovations with the residents of Georgia and our many visitors from the U.S. and around the world,” Chris Forbes, general manager of Unicoi Lodge, said in a news release.
Both lodges will be open for business during the renovations, which are expected to be completed by fall.
“Unicoi and Amicalola are both set in stunning mountain settings,” Langston said. “The current renovations will give Georgia travelers lodging options that complement the beautiful outdoor environment.”
