GAINESVILLE — The Hall County area can expect snow flurries tonight, but nothing more, the National Weather Service is reporting.

There will be faint flurries of winter weather tonight, but Thursday the skies should be clear and the temperature back up to the mid 50s, said Frank Taylor, a spokesman for the National Weather Service.

Meteorologists do not expect the snow flurries to accumulate on the ground or cause any problems on North Georgia’s roadways.

"Do not get excited," Taylor said. "It’s just a little ringing out of the last little moisture ... that’s coming through."

There is a slight chance that rain will fall in Gainesville on Friday and Saturday, but at this point, Taylor said, it will most likely be Sunday before Gainesville gets wet again.
