Sheriff: 15 store clerks charged with selling alcohol to minors
Sting operation also found 25 businesses in compliance with law

A sting operation on underage alcohol sales netted 15 people from businesses across Hall County, according to authorities.

A joint operation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and the Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad found 15 businesses “were not in compliance and sold alcohol to an undercover officer that was under the age of 21,” according to a sheriff’s office news release.

The 15 people charged were: Byung Chul Kim, 38, of Hoschton; Abdul Ghaffar, 63, of Lawrenceville; MD Saiful Islam, 51, of Lawrenceville; Mohammad Asim-Aslam, 34, of Lawrenceville; Aamir Khan, 21, of Covington; Letitia Guerrero, 22, of Gainesville; Jamal Irshaun Amyn, 24, of Flowery Branch; Zeenat Shah, 28, of Lawrenceville; Mary Sue Hollis, 39, of Lawrenceville; Yogesh Mody, 46, of Gainesville; Anita Khimani, 32, of Lawrenceville; Irfan Ali Syed, 32, of Gainesville; Jennifer Gunn, 34, of Gainesville; Mohammad Kayum, 54, of Norcross; and Jagannath Lairenjam, 44, of Gainesville.

Another 25 businesses involved in the operation complied with the law, according to the sheriff’s office.

All of the accused were expected to turn themselves in to the Hall County Jail on Tuesday, according to authorities.
