Forsyth County commissioners on Tuesday heard an update on a proposal to buy a vacant office building for the sheriff’s office. The seller has agreed to lower the price from $1.79 million to $1.5 million based on the county’s review of the acquisition contract in its due diligence period. The Board of Commissioners planned to further discuss the contract in closed executive session. The building at 1230 Bald Ridge Marina Road could become a central facility for the sheriff’s office.Once a medical center, the 10-acre site sits on the west corner where the road meets Market Place Boulevard, not far from Ga. 400.Sheriff Ted Paxton has said the building could consolidate the many locations from which the agency operates.
