West Hall High School Principal Scott Justus has accepted a job with White County Schools, setting up a two- to four-week transition that will shift leaders among local Hall schools to fill the immediate personnel gap.
Hall Superintendent Will Schofield made the announcement in a press release Monday, Aug. 6.
Justus has served as West Hall High principal since 2013.
“We wish Scott Justus nothing but the best in his new position,” Schofield said. “He has dedicated over 20 years of service to the children of this community, first as a teacher, then as an assistant principal, and finally as a principal.”
Ley Hathcock, who has served the district most recently as Martin Technology Academy principal, will now become the principal at West Hall High, though Justus will remain there during the transition period.

“Ley Hathcock … has an amazing background, and is prepared through his education and experiences to lead West Hall High School to places few high schools are able to consider,” Schofield said. “He is a man of unquestionable character and wisdom.”
Meanwhile, Jeri Lynn Hutchins, who has served as Martin’s assistant principal since 2004, will be assuming the role of interim principal at the school.

“Jeri Lynn Hutchins … exemplifies the Martin Technology family,” Schofield said. “She has poured herself into the school for eighteen years and will provide tremendous leadership as they move forward.”
