Dense fog could affect this morning’s commute, according to the National Weather Service.
Fog will be patchy, most likely around Lake Lanier and other low lying areas like creek bottoms.
Visibility could dip below a quarter mile at times. The weather service reports this is “especially dangerous during the morning commute where your visibility may drop to near zero almost instantly.”
Drivers should slow down and leave plenty of room between the car in front of them. Also avoid using high-beam headlights and consider leaving home a bit early to account for this weather.
The fog should dissipate by 10 a.m., according to the weather service.
There’s a chance of showers this morning, but the forecast then calls for mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s
