A section of North Hall High School was briefly evacuated this morning due to a smoke smell in one of the classrooms, Hall County Schools spokesman Gordon Higgins said. Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell reported that the source was a fan motor that had burned out on a roof-mounted HVAC unit. The unit has been secured and students returned to their classrooms, Higgins said.
