New townhomes in $150,000-$200,000 range may come to South Hall by 2018
Rezoning approved Monday will allow for building townhomes where condos were planned

Brian Rochester, executive vice president of Rochester & Associates, a Gainesville land development firm representing the landowners of 12.76 acres across from Johnson High, said there was lots of enthusiasm about growth in South Hall before the recession hit.
Another housing development halted when the recession struck is coming back to life. Completion of Hawthorne Village is expected in 2018. The townhome complex is planned for 12.76 acres along Poplar Springs Road across from Johnson High School, land the Oakwood City Council on Monday approved of rezoning to allow the development.
