Hall County will begin mailing mobile home tax bills today, a week earlier than in previous years, to avoid a 3-cent postage increase set to take effect Sunday.
The price of a stamp will increase to 49 cents, generating an estimated $2 billion in additional revenue for the U.S. Postal Service.
Mobile home owners have until May 1 to pay their annual property taxes, and will be issued a decal that must be displayed on their properties indicating they are in compliance.
The county offers several ways to pay both property tax bills and motor vehicle tag renewals, including online at tax.hallcounty.org. A 2.59 percent bank fee will be applied to all payments made with a debit or credit card.
Payments can also be made at the Hall County Government Center, 2875 Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville. A drop box is available at the front-door entrance and also near the information table in the lobby of the tax commissioner’s office.
Payments also can be mailed to the Office of the Hall County Tax Commissioner, P.O. Box 1579, Gainesville, GA 30503.
