A learning curve is ahead, but Matt Dubnik has been preparing for his first day under the gold dome for 10 months — or ever since he was the lone candidate to succeed veteran state Rep. Carl Rogers. With no primary or general election opposition, “I was able to start devoting time to learning,” said the Gainesville Republican in an interview last week. “Having all that runway has been invaluable,” he said.
