Hubert Stephens Road near Murrayville has reopened after being closed April 30 to replace the Hubert Stephens Bridge.

The road had been expected to reopen for the new school year, which begins Tuesday, Aug. 7, for the Hall County School District.

The bridge had deteriorated to the point where school buses were no longer allowed to cross it, according to a March 6 story from The Times.

E.R. Snell was hired earlier this year to design and build the bridge for $1.27 million.
