A cyclist was critically injured this morning in a hit-and-run accident on Mundy Mill Road at Fairbanks Drive in Oakwood.
The victim is about 30 years old and his identity has not been determined due to a language barrier. The incident happened at about 7:30 a.m.
The victim was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in critical condition, Oakwood Police investigator Danny Sridej said.
The vehicle suspected in the incident is a metallic blue 2013 or 2014 model Chevrolet Malibu, which was determined based on car parts left at the scene. It has extensive damage to the right front bumper and is missing its right-side mirror.
Oakwood Police are investigating and asking anyone who may have seen the accident or the vehicle to call 770-534-2364.
