Community members can learn more about the upcoming Northeast Georgia Medical Center Lumpkin at several forums held by the Northeast Georgia Health System this week.

NGMC Lumpkin is currently housed in the former Chestatee Regional Hospital building on Mountain Drive in Dahlonega. That hospital, which opened in July 2019, offers emergency and inpatient services, as well as imaging, lab and pharmacy support.

But the hospital on Mountain Drive is planned as a temporary facility. The health system owns a 57-acre site off Ga. 400 near the intersection with Ga. 60 and will build a permanent hospital there.
