Rosa Castillo works during class Monday at Wood’s Mill Academy, a nontraditional option for students in the Gainesville school system.
The future of Wood’s Mill Academy remains uncertain. It’s been proposed the building, at 715 Wood’s Mill Road, be closed as a separate school for middle and high school students. Under the proposal, a portion would remain open for high school students seeking alternative ways of learning; the building would also open to middle school students choosing to pursue the International Baccalaureate program.
