Gainesville police are looking into the viral video circulating that appears to show comedian Katt Williams and another person fighting in Gainesville this week.

“We were made aware of the video circulating on social media,” Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said.

Holbrook said officers were at the Melrose Apartments on Davis Street on Tuesday night while a soccer game was ongoing. Officers then responded to a service call, and the fight is believed to have happened after the officers left, the sergeant said.

An attempt to reach Williams’ attorney, Drew Findling, for comment was unsuccessful.

Williams was released on a $60,000 bond March 9 when first appearing for court on an aggravated assault charge. He was accused by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office of threatening a bodyguard.

Williams earlier also arrested Feb. 29 outside Leslie’s Pool Supplies on Dawsonville Highway. He was charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly punching a store employee, according to Gainesville Police.

No charges in the latest case have been filed as of Friday afternoon, officials said.
