A Gainesville man on Tuesday claimed a $1 million lottery prize after playing the new instant game $1,000,000 Grand Casino at a Gainesville convenience store.
James Case, a 51-year-old painter, told the Georgia Lottery Corp., that he plans to pay off bills and donate some of the money to charity.
Case bought the ticket at J&S Food Mart at 2224 Thompson Bridge Road and scratched the ticket in the store.
“The cashier grinned,” Case said. “I joked, ‘Can you cash this ticket?’”
Case also won $250 in a separate lottery game that day.
