Gainesville Jaycees honor Young Man, Woman of the Year

The Gainesville Jaycees presented the annual Young Man and Young Woman of the Year Awards on Thursday, recognizing three deserving Gainesville natives.

William Bagwell earned the Jaycees’ Lifetime Achievement Award. Bagwell, a lifetime Gainesville resident, is a previous Young Man award winner and has dedicated his life to bettering the Gainesville and Hall County communities.

Brian Daniel was named as this year’s Young Man recipient. Daniel, whose volunteer work includes heading the current United Way campaign and serving as chairman of Challenged Child and Friends board, has been named one of Georgia Trend magazine’s 40 Under 40. He also heads Carroll Daniel Construction.

Kelly Lee was honored as the Young Woman of the Year. Lee has helped lead a number of community nonprofit organizations, including working with Gateway Domestic Violence Center, United Way, Northeast Georgia History Center and Challenged Child and Friends.
