The Red Elephants are ready to celebrate.

Gainesville High School will mark its 125th anniversary at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Organizers have been spreading the word for months and have gathered memorabilia from across the generations to display, including a time capsule from 1903. The school also hopes to play host to alumni from at least as far back as 1947.

The celebration will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the school at 830 Century Place and will include a reception and tours.
