A 12-year-old girl was recovered safe and sound Tuesday night after being reported missing from a ballet class on the Brenau University campus.
The girl left rehearsal with the Gainesville School of Ballet, which rents studio space at the Brenau University Fitness Center, but did not return in a timely fashion, according to David Morrison, Brenau’s assistant vice president of Communications and Publications.
Brenau security was notified at about 6:30 p.m. that the girl had left class about 20 minutes earlier, Morrison said.
Gainesville police and fire units, as well as Brenau security and other personnel, began searching for the girl, Morrison said. She was located a few miles from the campus at about 8 p.m. and was returned to her parents at 8:15 p.m., Morrison said.
No was harmed, Morrison said, and there were no indications that any additional action was necessary.
