Gainesville firefighters are investigating a Wednesday evening fire at a two-story house in the 1000 block of Park Street, near Brenau University.Upon arrival about 5:45 p.m., they faced a blaze coming out of a second-story window and threatening to go through the roof, Chief Jon Canada said.Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire. No one was injured.The cause of the blaze and estimated dollar amount of damage to the 2,000-square-foot vacant home weren’t immediately known.
