Five people all escaped injury after an early morning fire caused extensive damage to their double-wide mobile home.

Firefighters were alerted around 3:50 a.m. today to the residential fire at the 3500 block of Baker Road, east of Oakwood.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but is “believed to have started in one of the bedrooms,” according to Scott Cagle, Hall County Fire Services spokesman.

Red Cross has been notified to assist the displaced occupants.
