A fire in an Old Cornelia Highway home appears to have started in the fireplace, Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell said.
A call was received just after 7 p.m. about a house fire in the 2800 block of Old Cornelia Highway, Kimbrell said. Upon arrival, smoke and flames were visible in the back of the 1,800-square-foot home, he said.
Those inside the home were able to escape without injury, according to Kimbrell.
An investigator was en route to the home to determine the exact cause.
