Fire destroys Flowery Branch home; 2 cats rescued from basement

A Flowery Branch home was destroyed Monday, and two cats were rescued from the basement.

Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle reported the call came in about 9 a.m. for a 2,500-square-foot home in the 5000 block of Loving Road off Old Orr Road.

Several neighbors reported seeing flames at the house, which was not occupied at the time. Hall County Fire Services is trying to contact the owners.

The two cats were taken to the Hall County Animal Shelter for observation.

Investigators are working to determine the cause.
