Motorists can expect some delays this week on Spout Springs Road as road crews clear brush and vegetation in preparation for a traffic light at Sterling on the Lake subdivision.
The work is set for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through mid-week.
The Georgia Department of Transportation is providing a used red light to be placed temporarily at the entrance to the South Hall subdivision, which has about 900 homes but is approved for 2,000.
The county will split the $99,000 cost three ways with Flowery Branch and the developer.
Plans to widen Spout Springs in the coming years call for a permanent traffic light at Sterling as part of a realignment of Elizabeth Lane.
