Early voting in Hall County draws 266 votes in first week

So far, 266 voters have cast ballots in Hall County during the first week of advance voting for the Nov. 3 election.

The Hall County Elections Office reported 94 votes cast in city council elections in Gainesville, 12 in Flowery Branch, 7 in Oakwood, 2 in Buford and one in Clermont. No one had yet voted in Lula.

Several cities have contested council elections on the ballot in addition to the countywide vote to extend a special sales tax for education.

Elections Director Charlotte Sosebee reported Thursday as the heaviest day with 77 votes cast. The others average 45 voters per day, she said.

Early voting continues at the elections office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the Government Center, 2875 Browns Bridge Road, Gainesville. Saturday voting is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 24 at the North Hall Community Center, 4175 Nopone Road, and Spout Springs Library, 6488 Spout Springs Road, Flowery Branch.
