A South Hall woman found herself looking down the barrel of a gun after confronting a man over illegal hunting, according to a Friday news release by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. Two workers at a farm on E. Reed Road in South Hall had just turned some pet turkeys loose Tuesday when shots rang out, the woman said.“I thought we were going to die right there,” she said. She said she and her co-worker began yelling, “You’re shooting tame turkeys. You’re on private property.”They ran down a hill after a man and two boys, continuing to yell at them.Eventually the man pointed a gun at her and said, “Stop or I’m going to shoot.”The worker said she stopped, but the man pulled the trigger anyway, as her co-worker shouted, “Stop, stop, he’s going to shoot.”The gun, however, clicked instead of firing. The suspect, described as possibly being of Mideastern descent, made several cellphone calls trying to get someone to pick him up, the farm worker said. The two boys were described as being about 11-12 years old. The suspect was picked up on E. Reed Road by a white male driving a red Chevrolet Z71 pickup with a bed-mounted toolbox. The driver was described as a slender white male with red or blond-red hair.“These were not true hunters,” said the farm worker, who asked that her name not be used for safety reasons.
