Eighteen people, including one from Dawsonville and one from Buford, face child pornography charges following a statewide GBI investigation.
The investigation that began in July involved local and federal investigators working to detect child porn being shared on the Internet. Over the course of the operation, 69 digital devices were examined and 232 digital devices were seized as evidence.
More charges and arrests may be coming.
Locally, those who were arrested include Earl Benson, 68, of Dawsonville, and Bobby Justin Lynn, 29, of Buford, according to a news release from the GBI.
Benson was booked into the Dawson County Detention Center just after 6 p.m. Wednesday. His exact charges have not yet been recorded, according to jail personnel.
He is a contract worker who lives on Columbine Glade just west of the North Georgia Premium Outlets.
