Employees at Dress Up celebrate their company landing on the Inc. 5000 for fastest-growing private companies in the United States.

Inc. magazine has ranked Dress Up No. 1931 on its 35th annual Inc. 5000, which ranks the nation’s fastest-growing private companies.

The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment— its independent small businesses. Companies such as Microsoft, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, Pandora, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees of the Inc. 5000.

“We were tired of typical retail stores both from a consumer standpoint and an employee standpoint, so we created Dress Up,” said co-founders Derrick and Danielle Case in a press release. “To be in the top 2,000 of the fastest-growing companies in the nation is very exciting and honorable.”

Dress Up has shown a three-year sales growth of 192 percent. At the start of 2013, the brand had five storefronts. It has since added its website, ShopDressUp.com, and 12 stores across the Southeast, for a total of 17 brick-and-mortar locations and a growing online presence.

The Cases founded Dress Up in Dahlonega in 2009.

Dress Up has more than 70 new styles arriving weekly, including dresses, denim and accessories.
