Northeast Georgia’s congressman is now the fifth-ranking Republican in the U.S. House. U.S. Rep. Doug Collins, R-Gainesville, was elected vice chair of the House Republican Conference, defeating U.S. Rep. Bill Flores of Texas for the leadership role. Collins will begin his third term in Congress in January.
