A Gainesville woman accused of being part of an armed robbery duo has new charges following an indictment last week, according to authorities.

Jamie Crystal Macdonell, 31, was indicted June 15 and booked in to the Hall County Jail Monday on charges of aggravated assault, armed robbery and second-degree criminal damage to property.

According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Macdonell and Steven Keith Murphy, 29, of Gainesville, are accused of robbing a woman Oct. 20 on Myrtle Street at gunpoint.

“During the assault, the duo took one cellular telephone, two home telephones, and $595 in U.S. currency,” Lt. Scott Ware wrote in a news release.

The two are also accused of slashing the woman’s tires and scratching the paint on the car, Ware said.

Murphy’s attorney Chris van Rossem declined to comment. Macdonell’s attorney Tom Csider did not return a call for comment.

Murphy was arrested on Oct. 29 and charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and second-degree criminal damage to property. He has remained in the Hall County Jail.

Macdonell was initially charged with theft by taking on Oct. 21.

“Macdonell was indicted on the remaining charges on June 15, and subsequently arrested and booked in to the Hall County Jail on June 20,” Ware wrote.
