Barton named instructor for Village Nursing Care class
Village Nursing Care has hired Karen Barton as the instructor for its Certified Nursing Assistant course, which begins Oct. 28.

Barton, who holds a Master Of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi, has 15 years of experience working as a licensed practical nurse at several hospitals and rehabilitation centers, as well as training certified nurse assistants and licensed practical nurses. She is experienced in orthopedics, neurology, cardiac care, including open heart surgery, and surgical preoperative and postoperative.

Based in Gainesville, Village Nursing Care Inc. is a licensed private home care provider in 13 Northeast Georgia counties.

The Fockele Garden Co. receives awards
The Fockele Garden Co. won a grand award and a merit award from the Professional Landcare Network's Environmental Improvement Awards Program for two of its projects.

The company earned a grand award for the design and installation of the Woodland Waterfall project, and a merit award for commercial landscape management at Lanier Village Estates.

These honors will be presented Saturday at PLANET's 39th annual Environmental Improvement Awards Program at the Green Industry Conference in Louisville, Ky.

The Environmental Improvement Awards Program is designed to honor independent landscape, lawn care and interior plantscaping professionals who execute superior projects. There were 143 projects entered in this year's competition.
