Gainesville accountants merge into new firm
Gainesville accountants P. Fred Kelly and Mark R. Bell III have merged their practices into the accounting firm of Kelly & Bell LLP.

The merger combines nearly 60 years of experience in accounting and tax work. The Kelly & Bell offices will remain at 605 Green St.

"The merger will be excellent for our clients," Bell said. "We both have been sole practitioners for several years. Now, our partnership will provide clients with even greater accessibility and convenience."

Kelly & Bell will offer full-service accounting and business consulting, including individual, corporate and estate taxation, small business bookkeeping, valuation, consulting and merger and acquisitions.

The firm’s new Web site will be updated with company and tax law updates.

"To serve our clients better, we have launched a new interactive Web site, which will be a resource for tax law updates, firm information and links to other tax and financial Web sites," Kelly said.

Kelly is a University of Georgia graduate with more than 35 years of accounting experience. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

He and his wife, Lynn Clark Kelly, have three children and one grandchild.

Bell began his career in public accounting in 1986. The Clemson University and Brenau University graduate is member of the of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Association of Business Brokers and the International Association of Business Brokers.

He and his wife, Lauren, have two children.

Walter to lead Alliance Bank office expansion in Dawson County
Andrew K. Walker Jr. has joined the staff of Alliance National Bank as senior vice president. As the North Atlanta Market Executive, he will lead the opening and management of a newly created loan production office in Dawson County.

Walker is a Forsyth County native with more than eight years of banking experience.

"We are delighted to have Drew join our staff and launch the new loan production office, said David Gregg, president of Alliance National Bank. "Drew brings a wealth of experience to our management staff and to the commercial lending area. We also look forward to the benefits he will provide to our customers."

Walker is a graduate of Mercer University and the Stonier National Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania.
