Avian Technology marks its 20th year

Gainesville-based Avian Technology International is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

Founded in 1989 by Fritz Kempker, Avian maintains a strong base in hatching egg distribution in the Caribbean and Central America.

"We’ve expanded the business from the Caribbean and Central America to the Middle East," Kempker said. "We have seen sustained growth domestically; we continue to know the needs of our customers, we are confident in the products we sell, and we still hold a lot of the customers I started with 20 years ago."

The company’s growth led to a relocation of its headquarters four years ago to a new 15,000-square foot facility on White Sulphur Road. The new site gave the company 10,000 square feet of warehouse space.

"For the last five years, we’ve had 20 percent growth each year," vice president Jason Kempker said. "As our business has expanded, we have added staff along the way to provide the best service for our customers."

Avian Technology is a family-owned business. Jason Kempker oversees daily operations as vice president and his brother, Tyler Kempker, heads up the injector equipment division. The Kempkers believe in developing a personal connection with their customers.

"We deal with a lot of family businesses," Fritz Kempker said. "We try to build lasting relationships with customers. It always makes me proud to be able to introduce my sons as being part of the business and our success."
