Banks County residents affected by a broken gas line and water leak still cannot use their water, but progress has been made in fixing the problem.

Residents along Ga. 105 were warned Monday not to use their water for drinking, cooking or bathing.

Atlanta Gas Light and Banks County have since made repairs, according to a news release from the county. The water line has been disinfected and flushed. Officials are now awaiting test results, which will be given within 24 hours. If those results are negative water service will be restored.
