Hunters find human remains in Flowery Branch

Two deer hunters discovered human skeletal remains Thursday, Dec. 12, in Flowery Branch.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies and investigators were called out around 1:15 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of Trudy Drive and Lights Ferry Road.

Two deer hunters “who were authorized to hunt on the land” found the remains and called 911, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Derreck Booth wrote in a news release.

“Although detectives are in the early stages of the investigation, they have good leads as to the identity of the deceased,” Booth said. The Sheriff's Office did not have an update Friday morning on when it may be able to release the identity.

The remains were transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and the scene was cleared.

No further details were released by the sheriff’s office.
