A Hall County man was sentenced to seven years behind bars following a plea in a child molestation case, according to court documents.

Christopher Iles, 47, pleaded guilty Dec. 9, and Superior Court Judge Bonnie Oliver imposed a 20-year sentence. After the first seven years in confinement, the rest of the sentence may be served on probation.

Iles was charged with aggravated sexual battery and two counts of child molestation in a September indictment. The aggravated sexual battery charge was dismissed in the plea.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Scott Ware said the case involved a 12-year-old girl and started after a referral from the Division of Family and Children Services.

According to court documents, Iles shall provide verification for a sexual predator evaluation at a state- or court-approved provider. He must also register as a sex offender.
