The former Hall County Sheriff’s Office employee accused of striking a handcuffed inmate is scheduled for trial next week. Dustin Charlton, a former jailer with Hall County, was indicted in February on two counts of misdemeanor battery and one count of violation of oath. The case is set to go to trial Monday at 9 a.m., according to the Hall County clerk’s office.
